The Beju Prayer is casually inspiring the masses.
This is how your friends should find out you’re a family man.

A lot of our audience recognised the voice behind Ralph and Noah. Those familiar with the talent speculated he was using animation to share his secret family.

With the number of kids he needs to fend for, he will be needing Meryl Streep’s job.

In this month’s podcast episode, We sit with our second-ever guest, the meme-able human Pokémon and talented voice of Ralph and Noah, ASTOR GEORGE. We discussed his journey in writing, his experience voice acting professionally for the first time, his mystery secret family and private ark (as Ralph and Noah) and why his voice might be more suited for Beju’s critical side.

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s inside:

  • Astor’s backstory: How his journey from comedy writing at Zikoko to voice acting led him to play these characters. (Hint: it was mostly nepotism and a lack of funding).

  • First Impression of Ralph and Noah: Ever wondered how difficult it is to switch from a character like Noah to Ralph? Astor shares his experience working through multiple takes and receiving feedback from Eris. (Spoiler: He didn’t quit because of the small chops available during recording).

  • Astor’s Take on EDH: Astor shares why he loves how EDH tells unapologetically Nigerian stories, from the “evil MGO” character who runs morning devotions like a cult to the unique visual twists in the animation. (Like why is character a different colour?)

  • The Power of Improvisation: Astor gives an improvised reading of CRITICAL BEJU (watch out, Yimika! Astor is coming for your job… well, actually, all of our jobs, if we heard him correctly!)

Animation Recs from the Team:

  • Astor’s Pick of the Month: Rick and Steve: The happiest gay couple in all the world, a fun, quirky show with a unique lego stop-motion style.

  • Ivy’s Animated Classic: Madagascar — A classic with unforgettable characters. (Stares at King Julian)

  • Eris’s Pick: Solar Opposites — A hilarious animated series about aliens trying to terraform the earth. Best part of the series is the subplot from the people in “the wall”.
